The Course

Join us this spring for one of two identical courses we are offering in Toronto. This multi-day course is designed for individuals who want to gain tree-related knowledge and skills. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about trees, and how to properly care for them then this course for you!

Each session provides basic arboriculture training which includes a combination of indoor and outdoor instruction. You will put knowledge learned to practice through interactive activities and a group tree planting.

Cost: $50 +HST / $70 +HST with ISA Citizen Arborist Manual (recommended). Payment cannot be refunded or deferred to future classes.

The Topics

During this multi-day course you will be introduced to the language of the urban forest. Beginning with the more the basic concepts, our instructors will guide you through more advanced theories and information on:

Tree biology, anatomy and functions
Trees and soils
Tree identification
Identifying and managing tree stresses
Tree planting and establishment
Tree care and maintenance
Municipal bylaws and policies
How to get involved in urban forest issues
