Every 3rd Thursday of each month, Aangen & Tracey TieF are proud to present our Community Cinema Circle showcasing visionary and soulful films that inspire a greater consciousness. These films entertain, inspire love and compassion, and connect us with the world around us. Come and experience wonder, insight, deep feeling and transcendence together as a community. Organic popcorn, Aangen tea and discussion included! This month our selection is: People's Grocery and Renewal.

June's theme is cooperative food in Toronto. Come and be inspired, learn about local initiatives and opportunities together as a community.

By donation. Proceeds go to Aangen's work with women in crisis. Please RSVP.

People's Grocery

In West Oakland, California there is a magical oasis called the People's Grocery that firmly practices what it believes - that all people, regardless of background, should have access to the best food possible. In a community that has 53 liquor stores and no other grocery stores, People's Grocery is growing their own organic food, teaching the community about healthy eating and selling subsidized food through their "Grub Box" distribution program. It's a living local economy regenerating from the dust of a neglected neighborhood.

Renewal

Renewal profiles eight faith-based groups on their journey to transform their congregations into responsible environmental stewards. Follow Evangelical Christians as they bear witness to mountain top removal; Muslims in Chicago actively supporting sustainable farming; Jewish youth learning to minimize their footprint; Buddhists engaged in persuading major magazines to publish on recycled paper and four other groups fully engaged in the greening of their congregations. This film offers hope and shows people of all faiths working to re-define what it means to live on the planet today.
