Oenothera biennis cold-pressed, refined, from China. Evening Primrose Seed Oil is a rich source of gamma linoleic acid, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which can be used to nourish the skin. It also soothes inflammation and can be used in dandruff applications. Small amounts are often added to other carrier oils for fortification.

Common Uses: Evening Primrose can be used for soap making and bath and body manufacturing applications. It is used in dilution with other carrier oils suitable for massage. Evening Primrose Unrefined oil is reputed to nourish the skin and hair; reduce signs of eczema and fight the effects of ageing.

Gamma-Linolenic Acid (omega-6): 7.0-14.0%
Anti-inflammatory, soothing, healing, moisturizing and regenerating, aids in maintaining the skin's barrier function
Stearic Acid (C18:0): 1.0-4.0%
A saturated fatty acid that is close to human sebum, has nourishing, firming and protecting virtues
Oleic Acid (C18:1): 5.0-12.0%
A monounsaturated fatty acid (omega-9) that is soothing, possesses anti-inflammatory properties, helps maintain the skin's elasticity and suppleness, and offers regenerative benefits.
Appearance: Light pale yellow to golden yellow in colour. Slightly viscous mobile oil.
Absorption Rate: Fast - extra light, quick-absorbing, leaving a non-greasy feel.
Shelf life: Evening Primrose oil is quick to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 6 months to 1 year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
