Perfume: Outdoor, Tick -ed Off Repellant and Bite Antiseptic
life cycle of deer ticks

A ready-to-use, evidence-based blend of dissolved essential and skin-friendly jojoba oil that I created both as a repellent and as a treatment once you have removed a tick.
TICKS WILL PHYSICALLY DISTANCE FROM YOU!

PLEASE TELL ME YOUR CHOICE OF BOTTLE: 100mL in your choice of blue glass or aluminum spray bottle.

I've selected essential oils that work synergistically in effective concentrations that have been shown in studies to be as, or more effective at keeping ticks away as DEET.

Made with proven natural ingredients, this outdoor perfume is safe for the whole family, plus the family dog (BUT NOT THE CAT) and smells good enough to use just for fun! The essential oils perform as well as or better than commercial chemical insect repellents against mosquitoes, ticks & various pesky flies.

LEMON EUCALYPTUS Chemical and Plant-Based Insect Repellents: Efficacy, Safety, and Toxicity: "where environmental exposures to disease-transmitting ticks, biting midges, sandflies, or blackflies are anticipated, topical insect repellents containing IR3535, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus (p-menthane-3, 8-diol or PMD) would offer better topical protection than topical DEET alone."

OREGANO AND SPEARMINT Essential oils as tick repellents on clothing:"The results suggest that 5% oregano and spearmint oils exhibit potential as natural clothing repellents, with an effective equivalence to 20% DEET."

GERANIUM Bioactivity-guided investigation of geranium essential oils as natural tick repellents: "The evaluation of 10 essential oils of geranium, Pelargonium graveolens (Geraniaceae), were all shown to have repellent activity against nymphs of the medically important lone star tick, Amblyomma americanum (L.)."

ROSEMARY AND NUTMEG Three molecules found in rosemary or nutmeg essential oils repel ticks (Dermacentor variabilis) more effectively than DEET in a no-human assay: "Of the 16 oil components tested, three performed significantly better than N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) in our assay. These compounds were myristicin and safrole found in the nutmeg oil, and terpinolene found in nutmeg oil and as a minor (<1%) constituent of rosemary oil."

TURMERIC Preventing tick attachment to dogs using essential oils: "turmeric oil was both able to prevent a climbing response by ticks and had a longer residual activity than other oils... The data indicate that turmeric oil may form a valuable component of a tick management programme for domestic dogs."
