Medicago sativa aka lucerne. My grandmother Falconar settled with her bpys from Buenos Aires, Argentna to northern Alberta and ran a healing farm where she treated people with polio and people with diabetes. Cooked and raw alfalfa, along with goat milk, therapeutic massage and exercise, were key to her healing program.

OVERVIEW
Alfalfa has been grown as feed for hundreds of years due to its superior nutritional value. For humans, the seeds are often sprouted and eaten fresh. The sprouts are considered very nutritional but also easy to digest.

Dried alfalfa leaves are used in herbal teas and tinctures and consumed for digestive health, promoting healthy blood clotting, relieving arthritis pain, easing morning sickness, and check tooth decay. Some studies have shown that it may even prevent cholesterol absorption in the gut.
