Geogard® ECT is a natural broad-spectrum liquid preservative, which protects personal care formulations from gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast and moulds. Geogard® ECT is compliant with ECOCERT and COSMOS standards and is accepted by the NPA. Geogard® ECT has a wide pH compatibility: (pH 3 – 8).
Characteristics: Clear to pale yellow liquid, with a faint almond-like scent.
Solubility: Not completely soluble in water-based formulations ie. toners, or hydrosols.
Suggested Use Levels: 0.6–1.0%

Safety: Harmful if swallowed or if inhaled. Causes serious eye damage. Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct contact with skin.
Storage: Ideally store in a cool, dark place between 3°C to 5°C. Use in a sterile environment free from potential contaminants.
Geogard ECT is a unique non gmo, patent-pending combination of benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, glycerin and sorbic acid, which are well accepted in a wide range of personal care products. The novel composition of this antimicrobial blend offers a low cost in use as well as broad-spectrum protection in a diverse range of products against Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria, yeast and molds at wide pH ranges. Geogard ECT has a wide range of global regulatory acceptance for personal care products. Also referred to as Preservative Eco.
Meets the COSMOS and ECOCERT standards. It also has a low odour profile making it the ideal choice for fragrance-free and fragrance-sensitive systems.
Does not mix well into totally hydrous formulations like watery serums and room sprays.

Hexa-2, 4-dienoic (Sorbic) Acid: 4%

Low odour and colour
Wide pH compatibility: (pH 3 – 8) make sure your finished formulas are within the pH range for the efficacy of your preservative. Use a PH meter.
All the ingredients are approved for use in the US, Europe* and Japan at the recommended use level (0.6-1.0%)
